Decorative outdoor exhibition of ancient stone, wood and iron objects used in the 18th century as parts of a water forge with the characteristic "donkey's head" stone hammers for working iron (Brunero Families donation). The suggestive installation gives a very schematic idea of what a forge of this kind could have looked like. The Netro area, not far from Andrate, has been known as typical for iron working since ancient times.

Mountain biking

for those curious, I added a simple diagram of the functioning of these ancient hammers in the photos: a water turbine (in the photo you can see a "Pelton" type cup turbine) was either attached or pulled by a leather belt to a wheel cams, which generated the alternating motion of the hammer lever at the opposite end of which the heavy stone donkey head was fixed, which had to be easily replaced if necessary.
