Barmer Hut

Great hut for a day trip or as a base for other high-altitude tours. Not as crowded as many other huts in the region - perhaps because of the more challenging approach. Anyone who would like to practice "alpine" is right here. Very nice hut team, warm-hearted and hospitable. You feel really welcome there. Delicious simple cuisine, everything freshly cooked, just a refuge and really really good - no restaurant! If you are planning a tour and are unsure - the boss knows her way around and is happy to help with valuable tips.
Tip: Overnight stay with a dog is also possible, then in winter camp (small hut right next door with bunk beds, very rustic and cozy - no electricity there - pack your torch).

The foundations of the old Barmer Hütte give an idea of ​​the unbridled power with which the avalanche must have raged to make such a large house nearly razed to the ground.

The (new) Barmer Hütte has been extensively renovated in recent years by the DAV sections Barmen and Speyer. However, the rustic charm of the hut has not been changed. The South Tyrolean innkeepers round off the still quite original hut life.

Definitely worth a visit!
The Barmer Hütte is also a great starting point for beautiful tours, such as: Lenkstein, Große Ohrenspitze, Barmer Spitze and not to forget the Hochgall through the Hochgallrinne (for which you really have to be an alpinist). It is also a stopover on the Riesenferner tour and the Skyline 360 East Tyrol.
