In the village district, preserved elements from the past meet the modern bustle of the present. The architecture in the village is characterized by both well-preserved thatched-roof houses and modern buildings of the modern era. Here stands the church of St. Peter, which gave the village its name. There is also the Eiderstedt Landscape Museum and the Historical Island with a rebuilt bakery, where fresh bread is actually baked in a wood-fired oven in summer.
