This Schierensee is located in the Plön district in Schleswig-Holstein, southeast of the town of Wankendorf. It is part of the Bornhöved chain of lakes, is about 30 hectares in size and up to 5.5 m deep. It is about one kilometer long and about 300 meters wide at its widest point.
The shores of the lake are dominated by dense deciduous trees, only on the northeast side do fields reach right up to the lake shore.
On the north shore there is a beautiful, free bathing area with a large lawn and a small sandy beach.
