Hiking
The trail is often steep (signposts indicate a gradient of 18%) on gravel; hiking poles are highly recommended for the descent. There are frequent hiking sections that intersect the switchbacks; these are not recommended in wet weather, as the grass is too slippery. These shortcuts are, of course, even steeper than the switchbacks.
