Cycling

Hard to believe: The "Cossi" emerged from a dusty coal mine. Up until 1990, the output amounted to 87 million tons of lignite, and the open-cast mine was only shut down after massive demands from the population. In 1993, flooding began with groundwater and water from neighboring opencast mines. By the year 2000, the area was designed as a local recreation area. The Neuseenland with the Cospudener See is an example of the renaturation of the south of Leipzig.
