Parish Church of Nuvolera also called "Piccolo Duomo" due to its size
August 21, 2022
The construction of the parish church began in 1766 on the initiative of the parish priest Don Bartolomeo Barboglio. The project is attributed to Gaspare Turbini, although there are also references to the environment of Corbellini, who creates a single nave system divided into three bays in which the side altars are located. The work was completed towards the end of the eighteenth century with the pictorial cycle by Pietro Scalvini which represents the Apotheosis of San Lorenzo in the central vault and the Assumption of the Virgin on the dome of the presbytery. The building has recently been restored at the request of the parish priest don Giuseppe Luciano Salvi.

There had been a parish church on this site since the 13th century, which was rebuilt in the Baroque style in 1751–1763 based on designs by Domenico Corbellini. The Latin cross floor plan is surmounted by an octagonal dome with a lantern.
