Mountain biking
This reservoir was built by the Canal de Isabel II, for the use of the regulated waters of the Guadalix River in the water supply to Madrid. The El Vellón canal starts from it, capturing the waters of the reservoir in an intake tower with intakes at three different levels. This channel leads its waters to the El Atazar channel.

The originally called El Vellón reservoir, which is now officially called Pedrezuela reservoir, is located in the north of the Community of Madrid. Dam to the Guadalix-Miraflores river, in the Tagus river basin. Construction was completed in 1967.
The double-curved thick-vaulted dam design was the first of its kind used on a Canal de Isabel II dam. The design structure used was tested in the Lisbon Engineering Laboratory and its calculation was carried out with "electronic programs", achieving a concrete saving of almost half compared to what would have been necessary to build a gravity-type dam.
