Parish Church of Vilminore di Scalve

Vilminore, nestled in the center of the Val di Scalve, is a village rich in historical evidence that narrates its past. Among the most significant traces stands the Gleno dam, an indelible symbol of the tragic day of 1 December 1923. In that dramatic event, the dam gave way, unleashing an imposing flow of water, mud and debris which fell with devastating force on the underlying population centers. The scars of that tragedy are still reflected in the dam today, carrying with them the memory of irreparable damage and the lives lost in that historic event. Vilminore, with its history, preserves a heritage that goes beyond time, testifying to the strength and resilience of the community in the face of adversity.
