Rosignano Mmo is located almost at the end of a ridge which, starting from Livorno, divides the old coastal Aurelia from the plain on which the SR.206 Emilia runs. There are four roads that go up from 206, two from the coast. This itinerary runs through them all without (almost) overlapping, with the advantage of little or no traffic and an appreciable coolness thanks to the shading of the vegetation and the time (second part of the afternoon). There are three uphill sections; the same number of descents, for a total of 23-24 km, having the Aurelia as the starting and ending point at the Accussì restaurant (ex-Bersagliere). The first stretch, from via Serragrande, tackles the longest climb with some challenging stretches (about 3 km 150 m in altitude) to the locality of La Maestà, on the outskirts of Ros. Mmo; here you turn left onto the Traversa Livornese (the ridge route) continuing for 1.7 km until you find an agglomeration on the right with a steep and initially very narrow S-shaped road. This second section, which descends to Emilia (after 2.7 km with 220 m) is very steep and the descent could be very fast if the road surface was better maintained. However, the circulation of cars is practically absent and there is some remarkable landscape glimpse. Turning south on Emilia, after a very short stretch, take a detour to the right for Rosignano along the sp della Giunca. In this third section the climb is constant and easy (2.7 km with 120 m) with sweeping views over the woods and fields sown with cereals. Reaching the Livorno Traverse again, after a few hundred meters you enter the town of Ros., Then turn left onto via dell'Acquabona, richly shaded, and take the fourth section, again downhill (1.5 km with 120 m) which quickly leads to Acquabona sull'Emilia. Continue south on Emilia until you reach the sign for Rosignano which (after 2.5 km and only 75 m) climbs gently up to the eastern outskirts of the town. If you are not interested in going through the center, you can start from here the descent that will take you (in 3.6 km with 80 m) towards Caletta. High quality water fountains are present in the church of Saints Giovanni Battista and Ilario, in Santa Croce and, in Ros. Solvay, in Piazza Monte alla Rena
