This portion of the Guadalupe River Trail is a scenic bike path, following the Guadalupe River. While you may see some homeless tents by the trail, they are far enough that you never feel uncomfortable on your bike. You'll get to see a side of the Guadalupe river that is free of garbage and full of water, unlike what you can experience downtown.

The trail is mostly flat, except when passing under streets, but there is a noticeable head front wind as you ride Northbound.
