"The water tower is Mannheim's landmark. Built in 1889 by the Stuttgart architect Gustav Halmhuber, who was also involved in the construction of the Berlin Reichstag. As the heart of the central drinking water supply, it was in operation until the year 2000. The water tower is 60 meters high, has a diameter of 19 meters and holds 2000 cubic meters of water."
