From the outside it doesn’t look much more than an old church. Indeed, it is, it was built 800 years ago! It was built in an early-Gothic style, typical for Liptov (usually the churches here were not built from wood, as in Podhale or Orava). As it happened to many other old churches, it lost its importance when a new church was built in the village in the 19th century. Slowly decaying until it was rediscovered and renovated in the 20th century. Luckily, the 15th century frescoes were saved, today being the biggest medieval frescoes depicting the life of Jesus Christ in Slovakia.

The church is being renovated again, so you might not be lucky to enter.
