Monument to the Fallen of Passo Vezzena
The Church of Santa Zita was built at the beginning of 1917 by the Austro-Hungarian army. It was blessed on August 15 with the patronage of Empress Zita, consort of Charles I.
It was built as a "Symbol of the resurrection to new splendor, in memory of the victorious offensive in May."
The church, abandoned to neglect and deconsecrated, was sacked and finally demolished between 1946/48.
The veneration for Santa Zita, protector of maids and bakers, was deeply felt among the inhabitants of the Lavarone and Vezzene plateaus.
