It is one of the most beautiful karst springs in the Ötscher area. Their catchment area is the northern part of the Schwarzenberg (confirmed by coloring tests by HS Gaming in 1994). The water has a constant temperature of +7C° in summer and winter. The stream that has its source in this source is called the Schwarzenbach.
According to tradition, the spring was named after Hermine, the wife of a Rothschild head forester around 1900.
The Herminenquelle is one of the cleanest springs in Lower Austria with water quality 1+. (HS Gaming project for water quality determination)
