Røldal Stave Church was built around 1200 and is famous for its crucifix, which according to legend has healing powers. The church is centrally located in Røldal and was one of the most important pilgrimage destinations in Norway in the Middle Ages, even up until 1835.

The stave church is worth seeing from the outside and inside. For an entrance fee you can go inside and you will be given a brochure with information about the history.
