Bike Touring Highlight
After all, this location even got its own sign on the about 1 km north running federal highway 188 between Burgdorf and Gifhorn! Then it must be great ... Well, now, as a cyclist, one simply drops off and should first look at the renewed information board, actually the most interesting ;-)
Unfortunately, you do not see much, except for a few boulders with ominous notches. It is not even known when (it) this desolation arose (gave).
For a couple of minutes break but still good enough ;-)
Overall, the area of Burgdorfer wood can be traveled very well due to good roads. Not far from the deserted village lies the "Little Star" >>>

The deserted village lies in the forest area of the Burgdorfer wood. From the former settlement in the area a circular elevation of about 50 meters in diameter is visible, which is intersected by a forest road. The elevation is surrounded by a small wall and partly by a depression in which once flowed a body of water. The place carries the historically traditional name Hehlen Kirchhof, which points to the former church building. Around the church lay the former buildings of the settlement, of which flat elevations are still visible in the area. In the wider area can be found in the forest earth walls, which might have been enclosures for livestock or nursery gardens.Today there is an information board inside the wall. On the floor are two larger boulders, which indicate with inscriptions on the location of the church there.Source: de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hetelingen
