The gateway to the town of Weilburg was built between 1759 and 1768.

(The foundation stone) is on the left hand side when you go out of the gate towards the road to Ahausen, in the button of the column. ..... Weilburg coins, Weilburg wine and a copper plate with an engraved inscription were walled into the foundation stone.
