The Church of Peace in Siek is located there with its churchyard and the former cemetery dominating the center of the village.
The place Siek was first mentioned in writing in 1263. The first church was probably built at this time. It was one of the oldest church buildings in Stormarn.
The first church was built in the 13th century, initially without a chancel, made of fieldstone and later enlarged at least three times. This first church was 31 meters long and 16 meters wide. The fieldstone walls were extraordinarily strong with a thickness of up to 1.40 meters. During the Baroque period, a 40-meter-high, clapboard-covered church tower was built into the western gable. This tower has served as a trigonometric base point since the Danish Kingdom was surveyed.
In 1880 the church was struck by lightning and burned down. The walls of the church were not damaged by the fire and could largely be used for the new building erected in the neo-Gothic style between 1880 and 1883.
The new tower was now 53 meters high and continued to serve as a trigonometric base point for land surveying.
