The Sanctuary of Our Lady of the Serra is located in the Serra da Nogueira, near the village of Rebordãos, in the Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro region. This sanctuary is a site of Marian pilgrimage, venerated since the 17th century, when the Virgin Mary is said to have appeared to a mute shepherdess.
