Tips
Between 1500 and 1250 BC people settled on the top plateau of the Hemmaberg. The settlement history continued into the Middle Ages.Archaeological findings suggest that the excavated double church complex from the early 6th century represented an early Christian pilgrimage site. Finally, in the Middle Ages, a church dedicated to Saint Emma was built. This also gave the mountain its current name.
