This castle is officially just a watchtower, although it probably had a bailey and a moat at the foot of the castle rock.

Here you can see very well which rocks the early castle builders were looking for and how they managed to build the castles on the rocks like eagles' nests.

The preserved wall is 26 m long and 10 m high. The watchtower was probably built in the 14th century by order of the Polish king Casimir the Great. Together with the watchtower, Suliszowice supported the defensive castle of Ostrężnik. In the years 1426-1454 it was the seat of the robber baron Mikołaj Kornicz, called "Siestrzeńc". He only attacked and robbed wealthy merchants and magnates. For this reason he enjoyed the sympathy of the local peasant population.
