It is a monumental complex made up of two cloisters, the convent itself, and a church dedicated to the Annunciation of Mary, in primitive Catalan Gothic style, which began to be built in 1254 and was consecrated in 1339.[2] It is located in the eastern part of the city. It consists of a single nave covered with six sections of ribbed vaults, illuminated by tall, narrow windows, and with chapels between the buttresses. During the seventeenth century the church was redecorated and new chapels were built in the Baroque style.[3] The convent part occupies the south of the church and is organized around two cloisters; the one closest to the church, from the late 13th and early 14th centuries, represents a transition between Romanesque and Gothic architecture.
