Hard to imagine that Lake Berzdorf has only existed since 2013. From 2002 to 2013 the remaining hole of the lignite opencast mine was flooded & is today one of the largest lakes in Saxony with an area of 960 hectares. An absolutely worthwhile excursion and bathing destination.
