Tips
Pian delle Parole is located in the Orobie Alps, at 2,157 meters above sea level. This grassy plain, not far from Pizzo dei Tre Signori, is famous for being a historic border area. In fact, you can find some stone memorials that recall the borders of three ancient regimes: the Serenissima, the Duchy of Milan and the Swiss Grisons.
The stone memorial on the face that faces west, towards the Biandino valley and the distant snow-capped peaks of the Monte Rosa massif, bears the inscription: "State of Milan". On the opposite side, on the face facing east, towards the Brembana valley, the writing "Stato veneto 1770" is engraved.translated by
