Hiking

Actually called “Salzhof”, this place is the nucleus of Bad Salzuflen. The Paulinenquelle, the city's oldest spring, is located here and the first saltworks were located here, with which the valuable salt was extracted from the brine. This salt mine was founded in Uflen between 1036 and 1051. Until the graduation towers were built, the brine was boiled in boiling pans and bathtubs.
