Schiller's Birthplace and Half-Timbered Houses in Marbach Old Town

Anyone who comes to the Schiller city of Marbach should definitely walk through the Holdergassen. There is so much to discover here that everyone is sure to find something they like in these streets. Be it the decoration of the residents and/or owners, the facades of the houses, various fountains or the front gardens - everything has something.
The Tobias Mayer Museum, the literary archive and much more are also worth a visit.

Due to the devastating city fire in 1693, Marbach is one of the few cities in the country with an almost complete ensemble of buildings from the 18th century. The entire complex has been under monument protection since 1983.
