The refuge is literally hidden in a fold of large rocks and you find it on the way between the summit and the big iron cross. From its neat terrace you can see Banyuls in the distance, less than three hours' walk away, but I think a last night at Refugi Tomy would be a good ending if you're doing the GR10 from the Cantabrian to the Mediterranean.

At 960 m above sea level and located on the plateau of the easternmost mountain of the Pyrenees, you will not find crowds, this is good because the shelter can accommodate a maximum of three people lying down, as long as they are friendly. It's cozy, the size of a big tent.

Climbing through the entry hole takes some care, but the tightly fitted glass windows ensure a windproof and waterproof bubble. There's even a carpet, made of Astroturf, that makes a difference. I found a butane stove and instruction manuals for good use of the shelter and its utensils perfectly protected in methacrylate and plastic boxes. A 20-minute walk away is a source (go down the GR10 direction Banyuls up to 857 m altitude, turn left at the sign post). Note: The faucet is not obvious - look on the right side of the cistern.
