In 1882 the construction of today's church began. The church consecration took place on May 19, 1885 by the prince-bishop delegate Johannes Maria Assmann from Berlin. The patron saint commemorates Saint Otto von Bamberg, the "Apostle of Pomerania". In the years that followed, the number of parishioners increased, so that on May 4, 1891, the missionary parish was raised to an ordinary parish. In 1913 the west wall of the building was broken through in order to move the sanctuary to the location that is still there today. Ten years later, master painter Ruschin colored the chancel. In 1925, the congregation purchased the Crucifixion Group painting. In 1929 the church was renovated by the church painter Schutow from Bingen am Rhein.
