We owe it to the amateur archaeologist and British officer to secure the temple complex. Hardcastle settled in Sicily in 1921 and used his fortune to fund excavations and exploration. Hardcastle resided at Villa Aurea, which is next to the Temple of Concordia. He is an honorary citizen of Agrigento.
