It is located to the north of the Sierra de Neila, to which it gives its name, between La Demanda and Urbión, within the Iberian system. The town appears located at the bottom of the valley, 1163 meters above sea level and is located at the confluence of three provinces, Burgos, Soria and La Rioja.
