The Giardino del Merlo is a botanical park located in the town of Musso, in the upper Lake Como area.It is built at the foot of a castle, now in ruins, linked to the name of Gian Giacomo Medici di Marignano, known as "il Meneghino" who conquered it in 1522 and which for ten years made it his headquarters, when it dominated undisputed the lake. From the garden you can enjoy a breathtaking view of Lake Como and its mountains.

The Garden of Merlo was built in the mid-19th century by Giovanni Manzi, inspired by the gardens of the Ligurian Riviera, developed on steep terrain. Taking advantage of the conformation of the land, with one side facing south and one north, Manzi created a visionary place where contrasts dominate, from the luxuriant and Mediterranean nature to the typical varieties of the alpine environment, in a succession of walkways, bridges, caves , small gorges and waterfalls. Also worth visiting is the beautiful church of Sant’Eufemia.
