The River Tawe meets the River Taf here and creates the beautiful, but historically treachorous sand flats of Cefn Sidan, translated from Welsh, meaning "Silky Ridge". Laugharne Sands can be seen on the opposite bank and Pendine Sands stretch out beyond.
