Church of St. Matouše was built on the site of a cemetery chapel with a bell tower, built in 1711 at the expense of the local mayor. The chapel was expanded into a church between 1773 and 1776. In 1777, a parsonage was built and the first priest installed. In memory of this important event, the Vernířovič family had a krupník column with a statue of St. John of Nepomuck, which still adorns the outer wall of the presbytery.[2] In 1836, the owner of the estate, Count Mittrowski, had a smaller sacristy and an oratory added to the church on the south side. The church underwent the last major structural modification in 1851. The new owners, the Kleins from Vizmberk, had the roof repaired, the ceiling replaced, and new stairs built to the tower and vestibule. In 1876, a sanctum sanctorum was built on the roof with a bell to ring at deaths. Further repairs were carried out in the years 1892-1895 under pastor Schamschuly (replacement of the tin mine, modification of the main altar, painting of the interior and facade). In the 1930s, new church pews were purchased, new paving was laid, electricity was installed and windows were replaced.

After World War II, the parish was not occupied by a new priest and the church fell into disrepair and was threatened with destruction. In 1974, the exteriors had to be overhauled. In the years 2000-2003, the church was repaired, for which the municipality, the Archdiocese of Olomouc, as well as local citizens and German expatriates contributed financially. On the occasion of the completion of these works, a plaque with a Czech-German inscription was placed on the south side of the tower. Additional funds from the Rural Development program obtained in 2012 enabled the completion of the overall reconstruction. (Wikipedia)
