The most modern church in Cisternino is the church of Christ, and it is no coincidence that it is also called the New church. It was built in 1860 at the expense of the brotherhood of the SS. Sacramento, which currently still has its headquarters here. The new religious building is located close to the viewpoint over the Itria Valley, in the extra-mural area in front of the so-called wind tower.

As you get closer it looks almost like a kind of pantheon; in fact, the very linear façade without any particular frieze includes an immense dome whose cap can be glimpsed. The tripartition of the facade of the church is outlined by simple vertical and horizontal cornices that mark the volumes.
