In the 1600s, this spot on the coast was a regular landing place for English invasions. This is why it was decided to fortify this bay. This tower was built in the same period as that of the island of Tatihou.

you can make a nice tour around the tower, which is about 2.5 km long. However, only on foot, not by bike or with a stroller. and you definitely have to be free from giddiness 😉 unfortunately we had to turn around with an old dog.

The path around the wall is only for people who are not afraid of heights. Entry into the fortress costs a little but not much. The view from the tower is very nice
