A roadside shrine

Although on some maps you can still find this small settlement, it should be properly assumed that since 1973 this uninhabited hamlet no longer exists. The only visible remnant of this place is a roadside chapel situated on the road from Kręsk to Unieszew, on the slope of the southern shore of Lake Wulpińskie. Although you can see neo-Gothic shapes in this building, the chapel has a very unusual form.

It was built in an altar arrangement, which was especially emphasized by the side pinnacles. Its atypicality is also visible in the flattened body and a low and triangularly closed niche, with a tall, dominant brick cross on the axis. Recesses with votive figures are on the sides and at the back of the chapel. And it is precisely these details that cause a certain lack of definition of exactly where the front and the back of the building are, especially since there are traces of the old road right behind it.
