Since September 2020, the Madonna statue created by Anton Ferstls has been back in its original place on the Marienbrücke over the Isar near Wolfratshausen. After the bridge was completed in December 1990, the modern depiction of Mary triggered storms of protest because of its short, tight-fitting dress. In 1991, the figure was then pushed into the Isar by unknown persons. After its restoration, it was set up in 1992 away from the bridge on the west bank - almost invisibly.
