The Kreuzenstein hilltop castle towers impressively above Leobendorf on a hill in the Rohrwald forest. Due to its elevated position, it was once of strategic importance. It lies at 266 m above sea level, around 100 meters above the Danube. In the 19th century, the castle was reconstructed on the ruins of a former fortress and today houses an impressive collection of historical weapons, furniture and works of art. With its medieval flair and breathtaking panoramic views of the region, it is a popular tourist attraction and also an ideal destination for a bike tour.
