The medieval town of Berching, with its 13 towers, four gates, walkable defensive walls, and great playgrounds, awaits you! After a hike, it's worth visiting the local restaurants or cooling off your feet in the cool waters of the Sulz River in Hans Kuffer Park.

Berching was probably continuously inhabited since the Neolithic period. Market law has existed since 1245. Berching calls itself a “gem of the Middle Ages”. The well-preserved old town wall with four city gates and thirteen towers dates from the 14th and 15th centuries. The park areas beyond the impressive, medieval fortifications are beautifully laid out.
Worth seeing are the Chinese Tower, the Powder Tower and the Neumarkter Torturm, the historic town hall, the Zehntstadel, the parish church of the Assumption of Mary, the “Old Parish Church” of St. Lorenz in the suburb and the pilgrimage church of Maria Hilf on the southern outskirts of the city. The city is also known for its annual Rossmarkt, where politicians give pithy speeches.

Berching has a very nice old town. Worth seeing are the city towers. The location of Berching is also great. Located in the valley on the RMD Canal and Altmühl, surrounded by green hills that hide some surprise.
