The castle, founded by the descendants of Demeter from Bukova at the end of the 13th century, often changed hands during its existence. In 1588, it was abandoned by the last owners - the Pernštejn family, and from then on it fell into disrepair. Relatively large parts of the walls and remains of ditches have been preserved in Dodones.
