In the heart of the Orobie Alps, at 1,738 meters above sea level, is Lake Sardegnana, an artificial basin. The shortest route to reach it starts from Carona, but it is also a popular stop along the Sentiero delle Orobie, between the Laghi Gemelli refuge and the Fratelli Calvi refuge. From the top of the dam, you can admire the majestic peaks of Pizzo del Becco and Corni di Sardegnana, as well as the distant Secco and Pegherolo mountains.
