The Battle of Rain am Lech from 14./15. April 1632 was a significant battle of the Thirty Years' War at Rain. The Tilly monument in the main street of Rain was erected in memory of the general Tilly at the site of his decisive military defeat with the approval of the Bavarian Ministry of the Interior by the Marian Citizens' Congregation Augsburg and by the Augsburg Bishop Maximilian von Lingg two weeks before the outbreak of the First World War as part of a Festes inaugurated exactly 100 years ago.
