A popular destination for many Chemnitz residents is the Sternmühlental. Located south of Chemnitz in the direction of Augustusburg and Erdmannsdorf, hiking trails, forest and a restaurant - the Sternmühle - invite you to linger.

If you hike along the Schwarzbach, you will come to an old mine entrance. Silver is said to have been mined in the "Augusta Erbstollen". A little further along the path there is a large water wheel in a small house, which supplies higher-lying pastures with water and has to overcome a height difference of approx. 70 meters.
