The Vorotishin cross boulder is a monumental monument of ancient Russian epigraphy, the only Boris stone preserved in its original place. The stone is a native block of dark granite, cone-shaped, about 3 meters high, on which a six-pointed cross and the inscription “Vorotishin Khrst” are carved, from which it got its name. Based on the shape of the cross on the stone, the nature of the letters and inscriptions characteristic of the rest of the Boris stones, this boulder can be attributed to the beginning of the 12th century, during the reign of the Polotsk prince Boris. The stone is highly respected by local residents and continues to generate legends around it.
