Skjern, the small Danish town on the North Sea, lies at the gates of Northern Europe's largest national park.

With almost 8,000 inhabitants, Skjern is now the second largest town in the Ringkøbing-Skjern municipality and is picturesquely situated on the Skjern Å (in English Skjern Au), which is fed by Ringkøbing Fjord about 7km away and stretches over the Skjern Narrows, Denmark's only river delta , branched.
