A magnificent, often "unreal" moor landscape with rare plants and beautiful moor lakes. There's also the interesting Peat Museum with information panels and videos featuring eyewitness accounts. You'll learn a wealth of interesting facts about the moor, peat mining, and the extremely harsh working conditions. As a highlight, you can take a varied ride on the Moorbähnle (moor railway). Admission to the museum and the peat railway ride is only five euros per person. Everything is located close together. You can stop for refreshments at the "Zum Wurzelsepp" restaurant, which serves traditional cuisine and also has outdoor seating.
