Designed and built by George R Stephenson, the Northampton to Market Harborough line was opened in 1859 for L&NWR.
The passenger service was finally withdrawn on 26th August 1973.
This signal box remains from the Boughton stop on the line, which is now part of the re-opened heritage railway.
