The Cathedral of Santa Maria de Tortosa is the seat of the diocese of the city of the same name in the province of Tarragona. Furthermore, it is thanks to the presence of the cathedral that Tortosa has gained its letters of nobility and has become a city in its own right.

The building has a good mix of styles. Built on an old Romanesque colony from 1347, the style is mainly Gothic, although the façade shows a rather Baroque side, reinforced during its restoration.

Located on the banks of the Ebro, the cathedral was left unfinished as higher towers would have blocked the cannons of the fortress on the hill.
