Bike Touring Highlight
Between 1825 and 1869, the location of the Bliesmühle was one of the numerous production sites of the "Fayencerie" in Saargemünd. The mill, which now houses a museum of ceramic techniques, used to house all the machinery needed to make the ceramic mass.

The Bliesmühle (French Moulin de la Blies) is located in Saargemünd in the French department of Moselle. The former stone mill was built in 1841 on the Blies, a tributary of the Saar, and is now a museum for stoneware production techniques.The Bliesmühle was built in 1841 by Alexandre de Geiger and was in operation from then until 1969. The mill was used to produce the raw material for earthenware. The material was used for the faience of Saargemünd. In 1990 the mill was bought by the city of Saargemünd and in 1998 it was converted into a museum for earthenware techniques. In 2009, the museum's gardens were opened to the public.
